Risk Assessments
ICTM’s Risk Assessment Unit performs risk assessments to support regulatory actions, facility permitting, and risk management needs. Our broad communication expertise assists clients with report language aimed at reducing misinterpretation of risk assessment results, and potential future liabilities.
ICTM’s risk assessment expertise has been applied in diverse regulatory programs:
- RCRA
- CWA
- FIFRA
- FQPA
- CAA
- SARA
- CERCLA
Our toxicological expertise can be instrumental in identifying appropriate values for specific assessment parameters.
Human Health Risk Assessments apply the Lakes Environmental IRAP software that facilitates completion of complex multi-pathway direct and indirect risk assessments. This software directly incorporates the EPA Human Health Risk Assessment Protocol currently required by regulatory permitting process.
Ecological Risk Assessments can be tailored to an assessment approach that best suits the needs of the client. ICTM’s screening level approach to ecological risk assessments has been accepted by several EPA Regional offices and state agencies. When more complex ecological assessments are required, ICTM can apply the EPA Screening Level Ecological Risk Assessment Protocol using the Lakes Environmental software as part of the regulatory process.
ICTM also provides a variety of fate and transport models to meet your special needs, including:
- EPA Air Dispersion
- EPA IEM-2M (mercury fate & transport)
- IRAP Human Health Risk Assessment
- SLERAP Risk Assessment
